Is there a such thing as too much?

Yes, the topic of my post is the question of the day, week, month, possibly year. I ask it because I have put myself up to 31 Xbox 360 games. Half of them, I haven't even finished. I'm working on it slowly. Constant returns back to Battlefield 3 do not help my problem. Sad thing is, I'm always wanting more. I'm sure I'll have some more added to the collection come Xmas time. If not, I'll add more myself.
I will say that picking up all these older games to add to the collection has made me enjoy them all over again. I picked up Halo 3 ODST, beat it, and then quickly went out and picked up Halo 3 just because I enjoyed playing in that world so much. It's fun to hear all the voice actors that you didn't pick up on the first around in the second playthrough.
I can't be the only one with this problem of collecting games just for the purpose of having them. I mean, I have every intent to beat them... eventually.

Look at me, I'm dancing!

So, as promised, I am blogging tonight. I have an important topic that has been plaguing my mind for some time now. Hopefully, I can receive some useful explanations for my subject.

Eversince I quit WoW, I've thrown myself into console gaming heavily. It's something I do every night and if I go without gaming atleast for 30 mins a day, I get the twitch. It sounds sad, I know. It's just my way to relax and unwind.
Through my many days of racing, FPSing, platforming, RPGing, and action adventuring, I find myself wanting to chat amongst others about my adventures or just talk about gaming in general. My lovely wife provides some great and intelligent discussions but I cannot chat with her all the time about them. She has her hobbies to entertain herself and I do not want to keep her from them. I have my awesome RL friends to chat with on them but I find ourselves not able to chat about things as often as I like because we are all grown up now and have jobs, responsibilities, and significant others that they have to focus their time with. So, I started to browse around the internet in hopes for some intelligent conversation among other games with similar tastes. Boy, I so found the opposite.
Everywhere I go, no matter what the topic is, there is someone always trying to bash someone for that person's opinion no matter how valid it may be. It starts as a simple crack at their spelling then turns into a flame war about another intelligence and finally turns into complete nonsense about nothing. I search and search and search for anything better. It just turns into the same crap over and over again. Trolls fighting among trolls about trolls. It goes on forever. Is this what the community of gamers have turned into?
I have pretty much given up in attempts to keep my sanity and decided to just keep my hopeful conversation to my Facebook and Blog. I mean, my friends can't ever get that bad. It's why they are my friends.

And just for some sake of trying to start up a conversation, I'm trying Borderlands again since my taste for games have changed. So, yeah, Borderlands...DISCUSS!

Yeah, I know. I didn't keep my promise. I'm a terrible person. Well, I did keep it but it's just wasn't as soon as I thought it would be. Just kinda lost interest with it. Perhaps laziness got in there too. :D  Either way, I have finally updated it to an extent and I plan on adding more to it very soon. I have two future posts in my end that I hope to bring some life to the blog. Atleast maybe some decent gaming discussion. One can always hope.

Look for the real update and one of the real topics in my head tomorrow. I should be able to remember to do it. If not, you can rag on on my Facebook. :)

Where'd you go?

So, it has been awhile since I've posted anything on here. I guess I kinda just lost my way with it for awhile. In an effort to keep this alive, I'll be posting a little bit more than just game reviews. Going to make it a little bit more of what is on my mind. A livejournal type thing if you will.

Since my last post, I have quit WoW and have found an amazing life outside of the game. I've played alot of new games and have had alot of fun with the 360. I really wish I was keeping count of how many games I've gone through this year. I have also discovered that my taste in gaming has change alot since before my WoW days and I think I'm alright with that. I'm playing alot of games I thought I never would enjoy and fallen in love with console gaming all over again.

That's really it for now. I'll update again soon. I promise. :D

Ho Hum

Sorry for the lack of recent updates. Haven't been doing too much except for WoW lately because of the new patch released recently.

I have found the time to start of Transformers: War for Cybertron.  This game is alot of fun and I wish all the Transformer games would play like this. I haven't quite finished yet but I plan to before next Tuesday.

Next week, I'm going to lose myself in LA in the year 1947. Normally I don't buy brand new games on day one anymore but seeing as how my other day one game was pushed back to 2012( I'm looking at you Bioware.), I figured I'd trade in some games for a pre-order on LA Noire. Looking very forward to this and as long as it plays like Red Dead Redemption, I'm going to enjoy it.

A Waste

This review will be short and sweet because it is all this game deserves.

Prototype was eh.

Story was eh.

Characters were eh.

Combat was eh.

Overall, everything was eh.

Oooo, I have something to trade in now.

I finally made a dent in the already huge list of games in my library that I need to beat. In case, you don't know, I have 30 games in my library of Xbox 360. Until today, I had 11 that needed to be worked on and beaten. I finally made a small ping in those 11 games.

Portal 2 was a game that I've been waiting a long time for. I loved the first one and practically bought The Orange Box just for Portal. This was also a rare occurrence that I went out on Day 1 of release and paid full price for a brand new game. I rarely do this simply because games are expensive and 60 bucks for a game that could be over in 8-12 hours just doesn't seem like it would be worth the money. Portal 2, despite it's length, was very different from the rest.

Portal 2, to sum it all up, was just a blast to play. The puzzles were fun and clever and the voice acting was superb. This game had me laughing out loud quite often. GLaDOS was cruel and evil as ever. Her personality makes her an enemy that is easy to love. Wheatley was a very welcomed addition to the game. It was very nice and fresh to have another robot to interact with and listen to. Later in the game, the constant bickering between him and GLaDOS was just priceless. Finally, Cave Johnson, the only human voice you really ever here in the game was just so much fun to listen to. Just hearing what he had to say really opened up how messed up Aperture Science really was. And for 60 bucks, you'd line up too to be a test subject with Jonah Jameson, er I mean Farmers Insurance... uh, Cave Johnson! Yeah, that guy Cave Johnson.

Despite the game length, I could not recommend Portal 2 enough. You could breeze through this game in about 10-12 hours. I haven't had this much fun in a puzzle game in a very long time. If you are interested, do yourself a favor and pick up Portal first. You'll understand alot of the humor in Portal 2 once you've played through the first one.

Times are changing

I've discovered something recently since my big return to gaming on my 360. My taste for games have changed.

I am/was a huge World of Warcraft player. I've been playing the game roughly since 2005 and aside from the small break here and there, I've been pretty much playing everyday. When I created my own guild is when I really committed myself full time to it. Times were fun and good. Downed the Lich King content pretty well and had alot of fun doing it. My xbox suffered during these times though. I paid it some attention. Mainly after we were pretty much all down with the content and was just really waiting for Cataclysm to come around. Discovered a wonderful game known as Mass Effect during that time. Once Cataclysm came around, I was back in the sattle and on WoW all the time. It wasn't till recently that I was really becoming burnt out of WoW and slowly started to discover my Xbox again. I also discovered that all those great titles that I had passed up for World of Warcraft for at amazingly cheap prices.

Boy, was I in happy land. I started with buying one or two cheap games to buying alot of them almost multiple times in the same week. I have beaten more games in these past few months than I have than I have in past few years. I also discovered that my taste in types of games have changed as well. I used to be very big into roughly racing games and most FPS games with the occasional shooter on the side. Now, I barely touch racing games and FPS and shooters are really all I play. I've even got into the 3rd person platformers and actions pretty hardcore. My recent change though has me interested in games like Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell. While, I haven't sunk my teeth into any Splinter Cell yet, I'm very interested in them.

Heck, the biggest surprise for me recently is how much I loved Red Dead Redemption. I was afraid of it being another Grand Theft Auto just set out in the old west. I'm glad I was wrong. Such an amazing game. I spent close to 50hrs on it and I still haven't even fully played through Undead Nightware yet.

Has anyone else's game tastes changed recently or just over time? Am I just weird and the only one? :D

Blog nub

Hey everyone. Welcome to my gaming blog. This blog will mostly be about my thoughts and views about the world of gaming. I'll even review the current games I'm playing. There will be alot of reviews on older games mainly because they are super cheap now hence the budget gaming title. I will, however, review some newer games as I'm able to afford them.

I'm looking to make my first real game post later today so stayed tuned and I hope you will read my blog. :D
